The newly redesigned H72 is made in Korea, but its appearance is very reminiscent of the original version made in the United States in 1966

Harmony announced the arrival of the H72 Reissue, an economical update to its classic semi-hollow electric guitar model.

The original H72 was first introduced in 1966, using DeArmond pickups and made in the United States. In contrast, the new H72 Reissue is imported and produced in South Korea, which means that the price of this model is $699, but Harmony believes this is a very faithful update based on the original blueprint.

The body is made of maple laminate. It has a maple neck with an ebony fingerboard, a 12" frets radius, a 24.75" scale length and a comfortable "C" neck profile.

Although you won’t find the new H72 Reissue equipped with DeArmonds, there are a pair of “Mustache” gold foil mini dual-head pickups (sounds great in the demo below), as well as traditional 2x volume, 2x tone control knobs, and three-way pickup options Device.

Harmony also retains the unique harp-like tail plate, as well as familiar features such as the f-hole around the pickup selector and the black diamond scratch plate.

Harmony’s general manager David Nam Le said: “When talking with Harmony’s artists and fans, we found that we really liked the look and feel of the old-fashioned H72. We are very proud to be able to revitalize Harmony through a re-release of a small but very important section. Legendary history.

"Completing the many details that link the H72 Reissue to its original version, we think this is not only a celebration of Harmony's past, but also something that will happen as our journey continues."

Harmony H72 Reissue can be purchased from harmony.co for $699.
