The international conservation group WILDCOAST will host Baja Bash 2022, a two-part event to raise awareness and funds for its ocean conservation and climate action programs.

The in-person Baja Bash will take place at a Solana Beach Private Estate, overlooking the lagoon and coast, where guests will celebrate WILDCOAST’s critical conservation work in Mexico and California.

The event will feature gourmet food stations with San Diego’s top sustainable chefs:

The highly curated epicurean affair will also feature fresh Baja oysters and fresh catch from Pure Fish, stellar Solento Tequila; Dona Vega Mezcal, Esquina Natural Wines, and Baja Brewing craft beers as well.

The Baja Bash takes place Saturday, October 1 at 5PM at Montbleau Estate, Solana Beach, CA 92075. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Baja Bash event will then kick off the week-long KEEP IT WILD virtual auction from October 1-7 featuring incredible artwork from both sides of the border.

More than 30 artists from the US and Mexico have joined together and graciously donated coastal and environmentally-inspired artwork to support WILDCOAST’s mission of conserving coastal and marine ecosystems and addressing climate change with natural solutions.

Virtual auctions start at 7PM on October 1st and ends at 7PM, October 7th. To register, click here

US Art Ambassadors include acclaimed painters, Eric Zener, Matt Beard, Ed Vasquez, Taylor Gallegos, Merrie Okie, Anna Pearson, and Marissa Quinn; photo surrealist, Rosanne Morris; esteemed photographers, Daniel Cartamil, Aaron Chang, Troy Brakovich, Zemina Zaferakis, Zach Johnston, Jonathan Lavan and Austin Novy; wood pyrographist, Cami Abel; Mexican artists, Marcela Cadena, Silvestre Miranda, Beatris Burgoin, and more.

Various WILDCOAST art ambassadors will be on-site at the Baja Bash displaying their artwork and engaging guests with live painting experiences.

The realities of climate change like sea level and temperature rise, fires and hurricanes, along with issues of ocean pollution, overfishing, acidification, and coastal development are taking their toll on humans, wildlife, and the planet.

The dynamic team at WILDCOAST doesn’t focus on doom and gloom, rather they put their energy toward impactful conservation and relentless positivity.

WILDCOAST is protecting 38 million acres of coastline and ocean habitat while addressing climate change by planting and restoring blue carbon ecosystems like wetlands and mangroves (which capture and store carbon). The nonprofit is also buying up wildlands to preserve iconic coastlines, taking action by managing underwater parks and ocean habitats, protecting coral reefs, sea turtle beaches and whale breeding lagoons, and addressing climate change by planting and resorting blue carbon ecosystems like mangrove forests and wetlands in both Mexico and California.

Their trash boom at the US/Tijuana border has stopped 100,000 pounds of plastic, tire waste and solid debris from entering the Pacific Ocean and they have plans to install two more. WILDCOAST also engages youth from park-poor communities and local indigenous communities in educational outdoor experiences to encourage a new generation of ocean ambassadors.

Tickets for Baja Bash are priced at $175 per person; The KEEP IT WILD Virtual Auction offers free registration to all. Both events are open to the public.

Proceeds from both the in-person and online event will benefit WILDCOAST’s continued efforts to conserve the most threatened coastal and ocean habitats and wildlife in California and Mexico and tackle climate change.
